Description:       Project Lead The Way (PLTW) provides a comprehensive approach to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education through an activity-, project-, and problem-based curriculum for students and rigorous teacher professional development model. In partnership with leading US companies and foundations, PLTW provides prekindergarten through grade 12 school districts and schools with grant opportunities to support implementation or expansion of PLTW programs.

Eligible applicants are US prekindergarten through grade 12 districts and schools. The grant process invites schools to submit one general application per PLTW program (e.g., launch, gateway, biomedical science, computer science, engineering, professional development) to be considered for any grant for which an applicant qualifies based on state or program status (i.e., new program or expansion). The apply link is available on the website and requires registration or a login to access. Complete applications must be submitted using the online system. Schools are encouraged to submit applications in the fall semester to be considered for as many funding opportunities as possible. Most grants are awarded at the end of the fall semester and early in the spring semester. Applications are held until June 30, after which schools must apply again for the next fiscal year.
