Tellabs Foundation – Due: Rolling (Letters of Inquiries)

$10,000 Plus – The mission of the Tellabs Foundation is to advance specific, strategic endeavors in communities where Tellabs employees live and work. The foundation seeks to build the capacity of nonprofit organizations by supporting sustainable initiatives, primarily in education.

Generally, the Foundation prefers to fund specific programs, rather than general operating requests. The three priority funding areas include:

Education – support local and national education initiatives, with a focus on engineering, science, mathematics and technology.

Health – improve health through research, education and treatment, primarily working with hospitals and health care facilities.

Environment – encourage understanding and protection of the environment, with a focus on environmental education, land and water protection.

Eligible applicants must have an IRS 501(c)(3) tax exemption or equivalent status.

Grant awards are typically in excess of $10,000.

Board meetings usually occur in January, April, July and October. At each meeting, the board will consider all letters of inquiry received by the first day of that month. Dates may be subject to change.
