Description: The Nuckolls Fund for Lighting Education awards the Edison Price Fellowship Grant to support lighting educators in broadening their understanding of architectural lighting through unique educational experiences. Edison Price Fellows may spend a minimum of eight weeks in the lighting industry working with a manufacturing or design firm, or at a college or university with a thriving lighting education program working with an established faculty member. Grants are paid directly to fellows. Arrangements with the host institution or firm must be made before submitting a proposal.
Eligible applicants are educators actively engaged in lighting education at academic institutions in North America. Materials to include in an application are outlined in the grant guidelines and include information on the host institution or firm, including length of stay, advisor, and letter confirming fellowship invitation. Also required is a statement explaining how the fellowship can improve the lighting program at the home institution; three letters of support, including one from a dean, chair, or director; budget sheet with how the fellowship grant will be used; a proposal with reasonable detail on the planned fellowship activities; and the educator’s resume or curriculum vitae. Materials must be presented following a prescribed outline and limited to 25 pages, combined in one Word or PDF document less than 1mb in size. Complete applications must be submitted by email. Notifications will be made in March 2022.
