PROGRAM SUMMARY:
A partnership with Corteva and the National Science Teaching Association, this award is to recognize excellence
and innovation in the field of agricultural science education. One award will be awarded annually. The awardee will
receive a $5000 grant for their classroom/program, paid travel expenses to attend the NSTA national conference on
science education, mentoring with a Corteva scientist, classroom resources from Corteva, and access to a Corteva product plant or research facility. The awardee will be presented the award at the Teacher Awards Banquet at the National Conference.
ELIGIBILITY:
This award is open to any K-12 science teacher who incorporates innovative agricultural science activities into their
existing science curriculum.
CRITERIA FOR JUDGING:
The demonstrated incorporation of hands-on agricultural science activities into the classroom, which include:
★ Effective planning skills which includes goals and objectives
★ Demonstrated impact and engagement of students
★ Opportunities for students to attain science standards
★ Description of how the award would be used to further their agricultural science program
AWARD SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
★ A video up to twenty minutes (does not have to be continuous), with the teacher and students participating in an
agricultural science activity. (YouTube link)
★ A two-page description of the activity with objectives, connections to standards and assessment, and a description
of how the award would be used to further their program.
★ A one page CV describing teaching experience, professional development, professional activities and awards. (may
be single spaced)
★ Three letters of recommendation, up to two pages each, must accompany the application.
★ All correspondence must be double spaced and in 12 point Times New Roman font.
