Description: The purpose of the Cyber-Physical Systems program is to support research and education projects that integrate computing and engineering systems to transform the way people interact with information in fields such as agriculture, aeronautics, building design, civil infrastructure, energy, environmental quality, health care and personalized medicine, manufacturing, and transportation.
Proposals are accepted for Small, Medium, and Frontier projects that vary in goals, scope, and scale from emerging ideas to complex plans that push boundaries beyond current systems and capabilities.
Project plans in all categories must propose activities to develop student interest and skills at kindergarten through grade 12, undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate levels. Additionally, strategies are required to broaden participation of groups underrepresented in computing and engineering fields, including African Americans, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians, Native Pacific Islanders, persons with disabilities, and women.
