Award(s):           Grants of $8,400 per year for up to five years are awarded: $6,000 collaboration, travel, and research funds for the awardee; $1,000 for the department to enhance research atmosphere; and $1,400 for indirect costs.

Description:       The Simons Foundation awards Collaboration Grants for Mathematicians to support research activities among mathematicians in different institutions. The grant program is intended to increase contacts between active and accomplished mathematicians that lack access to funding for collaborations. Grants may be used for travel, research, and visitor expenses.

Eligible applicants are individual mathematicians with full-time tenure-track or tenured appointments in US institutions with a PhD department in mathematics. Applicants must also have a current record of active research and publication in high-quality journals. Applications must be submitted online. Up to 140 grants are awarded yearly, with funds paid to each awardee’s institution.
