Applications are now being accepted for the Monsanto Hawaii Science Education Fund. The grant program is open to public schools serving intermediate, high school and college level students on the islands of Maui, Oahu and Molokai.
The Fund helps to provide programs and supplies to enhance science education in public schools and to encourage students to consider a future career in the sciences.
During the last funding period, Lahainaluna High School and other Oʻahu schools were awarded grants totaling nearly $6,000. These funds supported a variety of STEM-related programs, including scientific inquiry activities, an agri-science project, robotics, an aquaponic garden, and agricultural program.
Applications are accepted and reviewed twice a year. The application deadline for the next grant period is Sept. 25, 2018. Applications can be downloaded online (click on “Community,” then “Monsanto Hawaii Science Education Fund”) or by contacting any one of Monsanto’s farm stations on Maui 808-891-8830, Oahu 808-685-8371, or Molokai 808-553-5070.
