Among the foundation’s funding priorities are programs to support education from elementary to college, with a focus on engineering, science, mathematics, and technology. The foundation also supports programs for the disabled; to provide basic needs (food, clothing, and shelter), disaster relief, and health; and to promote Japanese American cross-cultural enrichment.

Eligible applicants are nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) status. The foundation gives preference to local organizations in communities with OMRON operations and organizations where OMRON employees volunteer. The foundation also prefers to fund specific programs over general operating expenses. Interested applicants must first submit a preliminary application by email. Select organizations will then be invited to submit a full proposal.
