The Clif Bar Family Foundation’s Small Grants are awarded for general organizational support or to fund specific projects in the foundation’s priority areas: (1) protecting Earth’s beauty and bounty; (2) creating a robust, healthy food system; (3) increasing opportunities for outdoor activity; (4) reducing environmental health hazards; and (5) building stronger communities.

In previous years, the foundation has awarded grants to nonprofit organizations that support innovative education programs at multiple levels. Examples include a garden-as-classroom work-study program to empower low-income kindergarten through grade 12 students; environmental education and outdoor recreation for children and adults; a biking program for children and adults with physical disabilities; wilderness field trips for urban youth; confidence-building adventures for children with special needs; a summer camp for children and families living with diabetes; after-school tutoring programs; and science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education programs.   • At this time, only US-based 501(c)3 organizations (or groups with a 501(c)3 fiscal sponsor) are eligible for our small grants programs. We do not accept applications from equivalent organizations in other countries.
