USDA offers University Grants to Enhance Food & Agricultural Workforce

NIFA requests applications for the Higher Education Challenge Grants Program (HEC) for fiscal year (FY) 2011 to stimulate and enable colleges and universities to provide the quality of education necessary to produce baccalaureate or higher degree level graduates capable of strengthening the Nation’s food and agricultural scientific and professional workforce.  NIFA anticipates that the amount available for support of this program in FY 2011 will be approximately $5.2 million.

DATES: Applications must be received by close of business (COB) on February 4, 2011 (5:00 p.m. Eastern Time). Applications received after this deadline will normally not be considered for funding. Comments regarding this request for applications (RFA) are requested within six months from the issuance of this notice. Comments received after that date will be considered to the extent practicable.

Award Ceiling: $750,000
Award Floor: $30,000
