Supporters like Boeing, Microsoft, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Lease Crutcher Lewis and others have invested in planning efforts and have raised or identified strong prospects for close to $20M of the $55M fundraising goal to launch STEM. Washington STEM will continue to leverage its private, community and public sector relationships to increase funding towards its mission. Building on this foundation of support, the Director of Development will focus efforts on raising funds for programs that support teachers; fund comprehensive STEM instructional resources for the P/K-12 to post secondary level and create technology-driven data collection, management and analysis systems.
The Director of Development will create a fund development program to support the mission and initiatives of Washington STEM. The start-up nature of the organization will require an entrepreneurial approach to action and scaling efforts. Innovative thinking and entrepreneurial gusto combined with a zealot’s passion for the STEM education improvement mission will be required for success. The Director of Development will provide leadership and manage the direction, planning and execution of fundraising and development related activities.
